021 - Phone and Action

[Phone] Okay so I've got a few things that people requested from the forge? I can bring them by houses or you can come pick them up whenever. Basically if you requested something, it's probably done. So... yeah.

This is usually the part where I'd be taking requests, and I can still do that, but I'm working on a project right now so there's gonna be kind of a delay before I can start working on stuff. But yeah! For all the new people I've been hearing around, I'm Hiccup, I have a forge, and I can make weapons, armor, and possibly random stuff. Just let me know and we can work something out. I just got a bunch of tools back from home so it'll make making some really good stuff a lot easier.

[Action, after school] [Hiccup is working at the forge, in the backyard of 339 Brady Lane. He's actually doing something he doesn't usually do given the requests he usually gets. He's working on some kind of mechanism to do... something. It's a little uncertain. But there's a couple of diagrams of car engines.]

[Loki can't help himself. He's both curious and impatient by nature, and he wants to see how Hiccup's doing. So he's dropped by. He knocks on the door and decides to use that one new word he picked up from Gamzee. With a grin:]

[Hiccup looks up at Loki's entrance and nearly drops what he's working on at his greeting.

Okay no, scratch that, he does drop it. As he's scrambling for the dropped pieces on the floor, he looks up at Loki, completely dumbfounded.]

Yup. Pretty much... anything, although not guns so much. But if you have a specific request I'll give it my best shot.

Yeah, it's all set. I think it is, anyway. I mean, it's built to specification. You should probably try it out, though, there's probably some tweaks that need to be made or something.

Kind of a lot. I've been making stuff here for about four or five months, and I've been a blacksmith for several years. So yeah. I'm pretty good, I guess. People here have been satisfied with what I've made them.

[That's putting it lightly. So far everyone has been very impressed, but Hiccup is not exactly one to toot his own horn.]

Well there's kind of a lack of traditional forging materials around, so I've been dismantling cars and using them to make other stuff. The cars are mostly made of steel, which has been working really well for weapons and armor, actually.

Yeah, I do! And I don't really charge. People can give me what they think is right if they like what I made them, and mostly I've been taking promises for favors later on rather than setting a price on anything. I figure we should all help each other out, and this is my way of pitching in.
