Teenagers doing maintenance on a non-standard prosthetic are sights that are cause for comment. ]

[Hiccup looks up and shrugs. The prosthetic is really just a basic replacement, nothing fancy.]

I guess. I'm probably going to make a better one down the line, but this one's fine, even if it is pretty basic.

[she's just stopping by for a visit! What, it's totally innocent, it's not like she's trying to further some kind of agenda or anything!! But whatever she had in her mind, the leg kind of distracts from it.

She does remember that this is the guy who was dissecting her coffee machine. Perhaps he is now truly mad, and trying to give himself robot super powers. She taps her chin thoughtfully. How to put this...]

You know, Hiccup, I think even mad science should have its limits. ♪

Uh... what? I'm just tightening the spring and some of the screws so it responds better. It's not mad science, it's practical science.

[ Souji is out on a walk, going to nowhere important in particular. He sees Hiccup what looks like Hiccup stabbing his leg with a knife. Souji sprints toward him, getting ready to reason with the young man that even if this place is dreadful it's no reason to take your life and you'd just come back the next morning anyway so save yourself the pain.

He stops his sprint when he gets close enough, seeing that the boy's actually adjusting his prosthetic part with a screwdriver. ]

Hey there. Need any help?

[THE PAIN OF MAYFIELD IS JUST TOO MUCH! THE ONLY RELIEF IS STABBING HIS LEG NEEDLESSLY! Actually yeah it's just really nice outside and he wanted to enjoy the sunshine while he tweaked the prosthetic.]

Hi. I'm all set, but thanks.

[He grins slightly.]

[ A car pulls up in front of the house, where it sits silent for a moment.

And then it talks. ] Are you using a screwdriver on your leg?

[He's never seen a car like that before. It's pretty awesome. It's already got his attention by the time it comes to a stop. When it talks though, that's when Hiccup jumps about a foot in the air. Yes. Even from a seated position. He's talented like that.

Anyway, the screwdriver goes flying and he fumbles to try to catch it and just barely manages to do so.]
