019 - Phone and Action
Jul. 21st, 2011 03:59 pm[Phone:] So hi guys. Uh... I meant to mention this earlier, but then everyone got distracted with the whole Fourth of July and truth telling thing, so... anyway. The people who've been here know this already, but we've got a bunch of new people and I wanted to repeat my offer.
I'm a blacksmith, and I've got a forge. It's not that big, but I'm pretty handy with mechanical stuff and making things, so if you need anything, just let me know and I can probably make it for you.
Uh... and I've got a few things here that are finished but never got given out. If you requested something from me and haven't gotten it yet, it's done, just let me know and I'll get it to you.
[Action:] So like many others in town, Hiccup has received a package in the mail. He's a little wary about opening it, since the last time he got a package he lost his leg again (before getting it back, losing it again, and then getting it back again), but when he shakes it and feels it, he decides to open it and...
...it's the Dragon Manual. He blinks in surprise, then starts flipping through it. Yup. Just like he remembered.
So Hiccup can be found in one of three places today:
A. In the park, sitting on a bench and reading the Dragon Manual and making notes in a notebook.
B. In the front yard of 729 Anderson Lane reading the Dragon Manual and making notes in a notebook.
C. In the backyard of 339 Brady Lane at Quinn's forge, making a racket anyone on the street would be able to hear. All he's doing is getting car parts ready to be used as other stuff, but no one ever said forges were quiet places. If you want to pick something up, request something in person, or accidentally stumble upon a forge you never knew existed, now's the time.

Date: 2011-07-26 03:03 am (UTC)Well for the most part we're pretty normal. Loud, messy, rude, big, strong, love fighting, pretty good sailors, all that. But then the dragons come in. We settled our village about three hundred years ago, maybe more, and found out it was really close to a huge dragon nest. Instead of us going out and raiding other people, suddenly we had dragons raiding us. So our lives became all about fighting the dragons and surviving, because if anything, we're stubborn, and when we get a fight like that, we're not going to run away from it.
Anyway, so fighting dragons became the way of life for hundreds of years. Until I came along, I mean. I was never a good fighter or anything, I mean look at me. I'm not exactly what you think of when you think "viking." I actually ended up making friends with a dragon, and... well... long story short, we found out that the dragons were being controlled by this really enormous dragon, and without the influence of it, they were really nice and friendly. So we ended up getting into a fight with that huge dragon and... well... killing it. So now the dragons are pets.

[ She wants to make friends with a dragon too. :'( ]
That's so much more interesting than regular vikings.

Date: 2011-07-26 03:39 am (UTC)That's true. [ Jade giggles, leaning over to take another look at his book, carefully turning a page or two. ] You're just even more interesting!

Date: 2011-07-26 08:48 am (UTC)Well, no, but I've met aliens! So that's kind of comparable.
